For some reason, I find them more interesting from the back.

Backside

I purchased a handful of fresh cut flowers from a local flower shop and then had a few hours of fun shooting them close-up in my home table-top studio.  I use a Lowel Ego Light which provides a great main source of light.   Also a shaded window on the opposite side.  Using a tripod and cable release, I can get a sharp image.  I really like how the light falls off the left side.

Up, up and away

This one from the Muir Woods, a beautiful peace of heaven just north of San Francisco.  Spent a few wonderful and serene hours wandering through the redwoods.   I think I’m going to have to print this one BIG!

Little Bit Country

A small country church in rural Vermont.  Shot in light rain.  The wet conditions add to the saturation of the leaves and grass.  The wet shingled roof reflects colors from surrounding trees.

Fall Comes Late to Louisiana

These colorful trees were shot on Christmas Eve in central Lousiana.  Fall has passed by in most other parts of the US by this time of year.  Image was post processed with a couple of texture layers.

Wood Duck

Wood ducks are so photogenic with distinct coloring.   They are quick movers and are sometimes hard to capture with good sharpness and detail.  This one from the Alexandria Zoo.

Magical Evening

Posted in Uncategorized on January 4, 2011 by Brenda LaFleur

Tonights sunet.  The days are beginning to be a little longer…at least tonight it was still light out when I got off work.   Made a quick trip to Lake Charles to see this magical sight.   City of Lake Charles, just after sunset.

Christmas Firewords

Posted in Uncategorized on December 13, 2010 by Brenda LaFleur

I attended our local Christmas celebration this year which was held last Saturday, December 4th.  There was a lighted boat parade and fireworks to top off the evening.  This shot is a compilation of two bursts blended using Photoshop CS5.

Another image from the Alexandria Zoo in Alexandria, Louisiana.   Very difficult lighting conditions….high contrast and harsh light.

Another from my visit to the Boston area at the end of October.   Rockport is now firmly entered on my list of places to re-visit.
