Lake Martin Sunset

Posted in Uncategorized on August 28, 2010 by Brenda LaFleur

I visited one of my favorite sunset spots a few weeks ago, Lake Martin just south of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.  It always pays to look behind you.   This is the view looking toward the east as the sun sets in the west.  Lovely color.

Another Sunset

This from last Friday night overlooking Lake Charles.  I used the flood filter to add the reflection in the water.   Shot with my Nikon P6000 point and shoot.

August Sunset

This was tonight’s sunset at Prien Lake Park.  I always pay attention to the cloud cover in hopes of a dramatic sunset.  Not disappointed tonight.

Broken Wheels

Shot this past weekend while visiting near San Antonio, Texas.  Also, added some textures to the image.

Canal Street, New Orleans

Posted in Uncategorized on August 5, 2010 by Brenda LaFleur

I shot this image in early June during a weekend trip to New Orleans.  I liked the scene but it needed some punch so I added a series of texture layers and adjusted accordingly.  I have downloaded a number of free textures from Shadowhoue Creations.  Check it out here:  http://shadowhousecreations.blogspot.com/  Thank you to Jerry Jones, who gives his creations so freely.

Oak Lane

Another view along River Road, south of Baton Rouge.  I’ve shot this scene numerous times before but still get a thrill when the light cooperates.  Here, had to wait for the sun to go behind a cloud so the light would be more diffused.     I also added several textures to get this look.

Oak Alley Plantation

This is the poor man’s view point for photographing Oak Alley Plantation.   You can pull off the highway and walk (or drive) up to the top of the Mississippi River levy to get a nice view of the oak lined walkway.   I had a nice afternoon driving along The River Road looking for photo ops.
