Flamingo

Posted in Uncategorized on March 27, 2010 by Brenda LaFleur

I used the smudge tool in PhotoShop to digitally “paint” this flamingo.  The image was taken at the Houston Zoo a few years ago.  The smudge technique is time consuming but produces an interesting painted effect.

I’ve just finished an online pet portrait painting class at Digital Art Academy.  The class was taught by Diana Dillon.  I learned a lot and had fun doing it.  This was my final upload to show the results of my work during the class.    This is Dolly.  Diana provided the image of her labrador, Dolly.

Sunset on Lakeshore Drive

This is from last Sunday evening.  A beautiful sunset glowing over Lake Charles along Lakeshore Drive.  There isn’t a lot of editing on this one…a bit of saturation added and a touch of the Topaz Filter to give more texture.  Just Mother Nature at her very best!

I made a weekend trip to San Antonio with photography friends.  Anytime in San Antonio, the Mission Trail has to be on the agenda.  This from San Jose Mission, the largest of the San Antonia Missions.

Tonight’s Sunset

Posted in Uncategorized on March 1, 2010 by Brenda LaFleur

I was happy to find this beauty of a sunset over Prien Lake.  It always pays to wait it out.   I had taken several shots just as the sun was setting.  I was about to pack it in but decided to wait just a few more minutes.  Glad I did.  Really treated to a beautiful sky as the sun lit the overhead clouds.  I-10 Bridge in the distance as this is from the Lake Charles Civic Center grounds.
