Roses from Barbara’s Garden

rose group 001My neighbor provides me beautiful roses to photograph.  This is a group of tiny peach colored rosed that I placed in a small vase.  Post editing done in Photoshop.  I like the darkened background and lighting focus on the blooms.

Lotus Buds

Another image from The Lotus Festival.   My favorite thing about this image is how the buds stand out against the blurred background.  I shot all the lotus images with my Nikon 70-200 VR lens and camera mounted on a monopod.  lotus festival 03 copy

Yesterday I attended The Lotus Festival at the Buu Mon Buddist Temple in Port Arthur, Tx.  I spend about an hour and half shooting the lotus and water lily blossums in the gardens surrounding the temple.   This was one capture……

Watercolor Sunrise

bright sunsetWhat an amazing sky!   I made it to Prien Lake Park with just enough time to snap a few shots before this light began to fade.  I only had one lens and no tripod but I made the best with what I had!
