San Diego Skyline

Posted in Uncategorized on January 25, 2009 by Brenda LaFleur

David and I visited San Diego over Thanksgiving holiday last year.   What a beautiful city!  Especially at night.  It was a great trip.  We stayed in the Gaslamp District which is within walking distance of the waterfront, Convention Center, shopping, and many restaurants.  We took public transportation to the San Diego Zoo on Friday.  On Saturday we rented a car and visited La Jolla, Point Loma and Coronodo Island where this pic was taken at twilight.  san-diego-020-titled

Another nice sunset

Posted in Uncategorized on January 19, 2009 by Brenda LaFleur

There have been some nice sunsets this week.  I don’t always get a chance to get out and shoot them but got  this one on Saturday nite.  Just a quick grab shot with my take everywhere camera, a Canon SX10-IS.  Great little walking around camera.  capitol-one-tower-email

Why I love Louisiana

Because the cypress trees are beautiful even in the dead of winter.  And, sometimes you get lucky and get to view a sunset that looks like this:

Another with the Lensbaby Composer

Posted in Uncategorized on January 9, 2009 by Brenda LaFleur

first-composer-2 I think I’m going to enjoy this lens.  I like the control that the Composer offers compared to the Muse.  I can   choose my area of focus and the lens will keep that focal point while I shoot.   I end up with more keepers!  I also want to mention the Lowel Ego Light which is a great addition to my home table top “studio”.    I shoot most macros with natural window light on one side and the Ego light on the other.  You can see it here:  http://www.lowel.com/ego/

New Equipment

Posted in Uncategorized on January 7, 2009 by Brenda LaFleur

first-composerI bought myself a Christmas present…the new Lensbabie Composer.    I find it a great improvement over the old version, the Muse.  The image above is  from my first shoot.  I used the 4.0 aperture ring, natural window light on one side and the Lowel Ego Light on the other.    Check out the Lensbabie Composer here:  http://www.lensbaby.com

Hello world!

This is the start of my daily or perhaps “not so daily” journal, blog, whatever I want it to be.   A place to record thoughts, quips, quotes, photos and such.  It will be a reference for me…mostly about all things photography.  Maybe it will be of some use to others, too.  We’ll see.
